Join fellow outdoor enthusiasts this Sunday for an exciting hike from Baloo Balaa to Douma village.
Starting Point: The hike begins at Balaa, where you can witness a stunning natural sinkhole that plunges 250 meters deep, a geological marvel formed by water over 160 million years ago. The site features a beautiful waterfall and rising water vapor.
Trail Details: The route will take you uphill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Douma and its picturesque valley setting, surrounded by mountains. Douma is characterized by its distinctive red brick houses.
Historical Path: The hike will also traverse “Sikket el Sham,” an ancient roadway that historically connected Tripoli, Douma, Baalbeck, and Damascus.
Ending in Douma: The trek concludes in Douma, where participants can explore the village’s old souk or enjoy a coffee at one of the traditional coffee shops.
This hike promises a blend of natural beauty, historical exploration, and cultural immersion, making it a perfect outing for adventurers.
