Hammana & Dahr el Baydar Old Train Stations Hike with LOA

Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), join us this Sunday for a unique trail of old trains stations in Dahr el Baydar & Hammana.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: Our hike will start in Falougha’s forest. From there we will walk along the ridge with a spectacular view of Lamartine valley and continue towards Hima Hammana and walk through the newly cedar reforestation section in the direction of Mdayrej Bridge, where we will take a dirt road that will lead us towards Daher el Baydar and the Old train station tunnels. Finally, we will follow a dirt road towards the “World War Two” French army field hospital and the “kaysamany dam” to head towards our finishing point where the bus awaits us.

  • Date: Sunday 26th of January 2025
  • Level: Moderate / Distance: 13.5 km
  • Hiking duration: 5 hours
  • Altitude Range: 1381 – 1573m
  • Meeting: at 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
  • We can pick up the hikers who live on our way
  • Departure: 7:30am (SHARP).
  • Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
  • Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 5:30 pm

To be prepared for this hike, you will need:

  • Hiking shoes (waterproof)
  • Buff/ Beanie / Warm headwear
  • Lightweight windproof /waterproof jackets
  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses
  • Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…).
  • Water (2 liters)
  • ID & personal insurance cards.
  • Don’t forget your positive vibes and smile J

Contribution: 18 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides and first aid kit but does not cover medical insurance.
