Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), join us on Sunday, May 18th, for a unique hike in the Zgharta district, exploring the villages of Seraal, Tourza, and Kousba.
Starting in Seraal (700m), nestled in the northern Qozhaya Valley and known for its pine and oak forests, springs, and ancient caves, we’ll visit the historic Mar Michael Church-home to the preserved remains of priest Youssef Maroun since 1929. Walk through the old village, past stone houses, churches, arches, stairs, and a historic olive press.
The trail descends through agricultural lands to the Qadisha River (450m), crossing a Roman bridge and passing an old watermill. From the river, we’ll hike uphill to Al Sabeh cave in Tourza, where Phoenician burials remain. Continue to Al-Moghor and Crocodile Rock, then follow a scenic water pipe for 2.5 km. Along this stretch, we can view the place where St. Marina once lived. The hike ends in Kousba (500m). Experience a trail rich in history, tradition, and natural beauty… don’t miss out!
