Join us this Saturday for a unique sunset hike in Laqlouq & Akoura Highlands.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: Located in the Jbeil district, Laqlouq is unique because of its raw and beautiful nature and its rich vegetation. It is also a major spot for ski lovers. Gleaming! This is the meaning of the name Laqlouq, the gleam of the year-round snows!
At an elevation of 2000 meters above sea level, the hike will begin at “Saydet al Arn.” We’ll hike up a dirt road to the trail’s highest point, where we’ll be treated to a spectacular panoramic view of the neighboring mountains of “Jabal El Shelal” and “Jurd el Akoura” while taking in the fresh mountain breeze. Then we’ll follow a different trail to another elevated point, from which we’ll have a spectacular sunset view overlooking the lakes and surrounding scenery. After dusk, we’ll return to the starting point, where the bus will be waiting. This trip will involve several short breaks to take in the sights and sounds of the natural world.

• Meeting: Gathering at 2:00 pm, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
• We can pick up the hikers who live on our way.
• Departure: 2:30 pm (SHARP).
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 10:00 pm
To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
• Hiking shoes
• Lightweight windproof jacket
• Headlight
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…), Water (2 liters)
• Hiking sticks
• ID & personal insurance cards.

Contribution: 25 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides and first aid kit but does not cover medical insurance.
