Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), Join us for a relaxing camping weekend in Shouf Biosphere Reserve, Aïn Zhalta, at the Cedars Ground Campsite.
EVENT DESCRIPTION: The Cedars Ground Campsite is a calm and welcoming spot located in Lebanon’s famous cedar forest within the Shouf Biosphere Reserve. It offers shared spaces for tents, clean bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen for guests. Visitors can enjoy hiking, stargazing, and various outdoor activities in a relaxed and friendly environment. The campsite follows simple “tree hugging” rules to protect nature and keep the area peaceful and clean. The weekend includes a guided sunset hike, a warm bonfire night, and another hiking trip the next day, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
WHEN: Saturday, 27th & Sunday, 28th of September 2025.
SATURDAY: Once we arrive at the camping site, we will install our tents, unpack, and go for a sunset hike. After the sunset hike, we will have a bonfire gathering. Should you have any acoustic or any other musical instrument that you master, please bring it with you to add some art to this unforgettable night.
SUNDAY: After enjoying a traditional Lebanese breakfast, we will set out on a 9km guided morning hike. Starting from the Ain Zhalta entrance, we will follow a well-kept trail mostly shaded by cedar trees. The hike will be moderately challenging because of the altitude gain. At the top, we will be rewarded with a stunning 360-degree view of the reserve, including the coastline, Mount Sannine, Niha, the Bekaa Valley, and Jabal El Cheikh. After a relaxing break, we will return to our starting point by a different path to complete the hike.
