Join us for a relaxing camping weekend at the Cedars Ground Campsite in the beautiful Shouf Biosphere Reserve, Aïn Zhalta.
DESCRIPTION: Escape to Lebanon’s famous cedar forest for a weekend of nature, fresh mountain air, and great company. We’ll camp at the peaceful Cedars Ground Campsite, offering shared tent areas, clean facilities, and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy a guided sunset hike, a cozy bonfire under the stars, and a scenic morning hike through one of Lebanon’s most beautiful cedar reserves.
WHEN: Saturday, 25th & Sunday, 26th of July 2026
SATURDAY: After arriving at the campsite, we’ll set up our tents and head out for a beautiful sunset hike. In the evening, we’ll gather around a bonfire. If you play an acoustic or any musical instrument, bring it along and help make the night even more special.
SUNDAY: Following a traditional Lebanese breakfast, we’ll enjoy a 9 km guided hike starting from the Aïn Zhalta entrance. The shaded cedar trail includes a steady climb to breathtaking panoramic views over the reserve, the coastline, Mount Sannine, Niha, the Bekaa Valley, and Jabal El Cheikh. After a relaxing break, we’ll return on a different trail.
• Level: Moderate / Hiking Duration: 4 Hours / Distance: 9 km / Total Ascent/Descent: 550 m / Altitude Range: 1,294 m – 1,952 m
WHAT TO BRING: Hiking shoes, a lightweight windproof jacket, a backpack, hiking sticks, a headlamp, a sleeping bag, a personal pillow, food and drinks for Saturday night, 2 liters of water, healthy snacks, ID, and a personal insurance card.
• Meeting Point: Saturday, 25th of July, at 2:00 PM, Jal El Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot (Personal Cars) or at 3pm directly at the Camp Location.
CONTRIBUTION: 50 USD per person + 500,000 LBP reserve entrance fee. Includes: Tent (2Pers), professional guides, Saturday sunset hike, Sunday morning hike, and traditional Lebanese breakfast, but does not include transportation and medical insurance. Bring your own tent and receive a 5 USD discount.
