Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), Join us for a relaxing camping weekend in Chahtoul, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
EVENT DESCRIPTION: Chahtoul Camping is the perfect escape to nature in the heart of Keserwan, 35km away from Beirut, and at around 1200 meters above sea level. This peaceful location, ideal for nature lovers seeking to escape city noise and pollution, is surrounded by three distinct landscapes (Valleys, forests, and high rocky mountains). The location where we will camp and hike will host us for unforgettable moments, offering tents for accommodation, restrooms, and a local coffee shop that can serve hot beverages, lunch, and dinner by reservation for those who want. All to give us a pleasant atmosphere for our weekend, without forgetting a guided sunset hiking, a bonfire, a pleasant night, and another hiking expedition on the second day.
WHEN: Saturday, 4th of July & Sunday, 5th of July 2026.
SATURDAY: Once we arrive at the camping site, we will install our tents, unpack, and go for a sunset hike. After the sunset hike, we will have a bonfire gathering. Should you have any acoustic or any other musical instrument that you master, please bring it with you to add some art to this unforgettable night.
SUNDAY: After our Lebanese traditional breakfast, we will enjoy an 8km morning guided hike. The trail will start at the camping main entrance, where we will enjoy a pleasant walk on old footpaths and dirt roads between oak trees, dense forests, and rocky mountains. On our path, we will visit the Sacred Cross of Hiyata, historical abandoned old houses, a grape press, and historical caves.
• Level: Moderate – Hiking duration: 4 Hours – Distance: 8 km – Total Ascent: 300m and Total Descent: 300m
To be prepared for this event, you will need: Hiking shoes, a lightweight windproof jacket, a backpack, hiking sticks, a headlight, a sleeping bag, a personal mattress and pillow, Personal food and beverages for the camping night, two liters of water, and healthy snacks for each hike, ID and personal insurance cards.
• Meeting: Saturday, 4th of July 2026 at 2:30 pm, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot (Personal Cars)
PARTICIPATION contribution: 50$ per person to include: Tent accommodation (2Pers), guides, Saturday sunset hike, Sunday morning hike, and a Sunday traditional breakfast, but does not cover transportation and medical insurance. For those who have their personal tent, the contribution will be deducted by $5
