Join us this Saturday for a sunset hike from Chabrouh Dam to Jabal El Hadid Summit.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: Our hike will begin at Chabrouh Dam (Faraya). From there we will walk up a gorge-like path to reach the summit of “Jabal el Hadid” at an altitude of 1935meters, from where we will enjoy a sunset with a 360 panoramic view of the surrounding mountains (Afqa, Chouata, Chabrouh Dam, and Mzar). After the sunset, we will head back to the starting location via a different path to end our hike at the starting point…
The Chabrouh Dam is located above the village of Faraya. The dam’s collected water is used to irrigate the surrounding lands… The reservoir has a capacity of some eight million cubic meters and is around 1300 meters long.

• Distance: 10.5km
• Altitude range: 1553m to 1934m
• Total Ascent: 406 m
• Meeting: Gathering at 2:00 pm, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
• We can pick up the hikers who live on our way.
• Departure: 2:30 pm (SHARP).
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 10:30 pm
To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
• Hiking shoes
• Lightweight windproof jacket
• Buff/ Warm headwear / Warm gloves
• Headlamp or Torchlight
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…) & Water (2 liters)
• Hiking sticks
• ID & personal insurance cards.
• Don’t forget your positive vibes and smile J
Contribution: 20 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides, and first aid kit, but does not cover medical insurance.
