Join us this Sunday for Darb Mar Charbel Section A2, from Saint Jacob Al-Hosn Monastery in Douma to the Monastery of Our Lady of Mayfouq.
Hike Description: This challenging yet beautiful trail runs from Saint Jacob Al-Hosn Monastery in Douma; where Saint Charbel lived after his ordination, to the Monastery of Our Lady of Mayfouq. We’ll hike through agricultural lands to Bchaaleh village, known for its monasteries and ancient olive trees, then climb into the mountains for panoramic views before descending through Wadi Al-Jnainat to Tartej. From there, we’ll go uphill and descend through Ram, passing the Monastery of Saint Challita Al-Qattara, the Patriarchal Monastery of Our Lady of Lige, the Cave of Siege, and the churches of Mar Youhanna and Mart Moura, finally reaching our endpoint at the Monastery of Our Lady of Mayfouq.
