Ehmej Ezer Forest and Hafroun Summit with LOA

Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), Join us this Sunday for a lovely trail from Ehmej forest and the summit of Mount Hafroun in Laqlouq.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: We will start our trail from Ehmej forest, which means the “hidden place”. Ehmej is noted for its untamed forests, rocky formations, rocky peaks, wild orchards, junipers, and fruit trees. We will see breathtaking panoramas of the “Ezer Forest” and rugged hills while hiking this trek, passing through its famous apple fields. Additionally, for those who still have the energy, we will ascend Mount Hafroun in Laqlouq to its peak before heading back to the starting point via a different route.  This time of the year, the trail is charmingly diverse and colorful, with a mixture of landscapes. 

• Date: Sunday, 22nd of February 2026
• Level: Moderate Plus / Distance: 12km / Hiking duration: 5 Hours
• Altitude range: 1313-1751m
• Total Ascent: 650 m / Total Descent: 350 m
• Meeting: at 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
• We can pick up the hikers who live on our way
• Departure: Sunday, 7:30 am (SHARP).
• Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes)
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: at 4:30 pm

 EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: To be prepared for this hike, you will need:

• Hiking boots, warm hat, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a lightweight, weatherproof jacket
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…)
• Water (2 liters)
• ID & personal insurance cards.

Contribution: 20 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides, and a first aid kit, but does not cover medical insurance.
