Join us this Saturday for an exciting and diverse trail from Ehmej to Arz Jaj.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: We will start our trail in Bkarta, at St George church, North of Ehmej. Ehmej, meaning” the hidden place” is renowned for its unspoiled forests, cliffs, and valleys. We will enjoy panoramic views of spear-like rocks, and spectacular sinkholes. The trail is charmingly diverse, with a mixture of landscapes. The area is rocky and mountainous. It is home to wild fruits, apple orchards, and junipers.
Once we reach Jaj village, we will visit its cedar forest, where we will have our lunch break. Then, we will head back to Ehmej via a different route to end our hike at the starting point. Fun awaits those who want to have an adventurous Saturday with us.

• Distance: 13 km
• Total Ascent: +700m
• Total Descent: -700m
• Altitude range: 1180 to 1680m
• Meeting: 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
• We can pick up the hikers who live on our way
• Departure: 7:30 am (SHARP).
• Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 6:30 pm
To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
• Hiking shoes
• Warm Hat, Gloves, and lightweight windproof /waterproof jacket
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…) And Water (2.5 liters)
• ID & personal insurance cards.
Contribution: 18 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides, and first aid kit but does not cover medical insurance. An amount of 100,000 LBP will be added to the municipality for the entrance fees to the reserve of Jaj forest.
