
Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), join us this Sunday for a unique trail to Mount Kneisseh (CANAL 11), from Tarchich to Kfarselwan lakes
HIKE DESCRIPTION: Mt. Kneisseh is a 2067-meter-high mountain in Metn. with a panoramic view of the Beqaa valley and Mt. Hermon on one side and the Mediterranean, Mt. Sannine, Zaarour mountain, Metn region, and Beirut on the other.
The hike will start at “Dahr el Harf” in Tarchich at 1700 meters and continue uphill along the mountain ridge until we reach the summit of Kneisseh Mountain at 2067 meters. We’ll take a break at Canal 11, which has a beautiful view of the Bekaa Valley and the Falougha lakes. After the break, we’ll head down to the Kfarselwan lakes at 1500 meters, where the bus will be waiting for us. This adventure will involve several short breaks to enjoy nature and the scenery. (The first 5 kilometers of the trail will be challenging till we reach canal 11 at the top. The second segment will be mostly downhill and of moderate intensity.)

- Meeting: at 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
- Departure: 7:30 am (SHARP).
- Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
- Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 4:00 pm
To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
- Hiking shoes, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a lightweight windproof jacket
- Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…) Water (2.5 liters)
- Backpack
- Hiking sticks
- ID & personal insurance cards.
Contribution: 25 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: Transportation, LOA guides, and first aid kit, but does not cover medical insurance.
