Zaarour & Sannine Mountain Snowshoeing with Lebanese Outdoor Adventures – LOA

Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), join us this Sunday for an amazing snowshoeing trail in Sannine and Zaarour Mountain.

HIKE DESCRIPTION:  We will start our hike at the bottom of “Zaarour” at an altitude of 1700m. We will follow an easy path up to the first cross, passing by the statues of Saint Charbel and the Virgin Mary. Then we will follow the trail to reach a second cross, before reaching the summit at an altitude of 1850m, where we will enjoy a panoramic view surrounded by Faqra, Mzaar, Sannine, Baskinta Valley, Kneisseh, and Mount Hermont far behind Kneisseh. We will then head towards Sannine Village via a long ridge on the mountain’s north side.

• Level:  Moderate / Hiking duration: 5 Hours
• Distance:  10 km
• Total Ascent: 350m / Total Descent:350m
• Meeting: at 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot.
• We can pick up the hikers who live on our way
• Departure: 7:30 am (SHARP).
• Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 4:30 pm

To be prepared for this hike, you will need:

• Hiking shoes (waterproof)
• Buff/  Beanie / Warm headwear and warm gloves
• Windproof /waterproof jackets and pants
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, nuts…), water (2 liters)
• ID & personal insurance cards.

Contribution: 20 USD (including transportation and guidance, but does not include medical insurance) Extra fees: 10 USD (for raquettes rentals & hiking sticks)
